Liquid and soft food choices?

Well I just had surgery on my gums on friday (preparing for a crown), so it's soft or liquid food only for me for a couple days at least. Does anyone have any healthy and delicious thoughts on what should be on the menu for a non-chewer?

Applesauce, maybe red beans & rice (you can mash it) if it's not too spicy (I assume you've got some cuts/stitches/etc. in your gums), mashed potatoes, mashed cauliflower, maybe you could mash broccoli with some butter (or whatever you use). Oatmeal, couscous, quinoa, etc. and soups are all I can think of off the top of my head.

Good luck and I hope all goes well!!

You could make your own fruit and/or veggie smoothies... I don't have any recipes, but I'm sure there are some healthy ones out there. Maybe a scoop of protein powder too.

I just finished a ton of dental work myself (a crown was the tip of the iceburg). Oatmeal was a good breakfast option. Yogurt or low/non fat pudding cups. Mashed potatoes. The tough part is getting your protein. I found a nice, flaky fish (grilled) was easy to get down.

You'll probably find that temperature is the bigger issue than texture.

Scrambled eggs, add low fat cheese for more protein.

I lived on Cream of Wheat and Ensure when I had jaw surgery.
