someone has an idea what gives?
I started atkins 1 year ago and drank 2 L water and 2 L diet coke each day... was heavy in ketosis (deep red).. after this year I just cant seem to lose weight anymore as fast as at the start...
tried upping protein, then upping fat (for nutriotional ketosis), then upping protein again (huge to 180g), now trying nutritional ketosis again.
just no idea how to get really high measurements...read multipled books over and over but no idea...
ratio is perfect with 1800kcal, 120fat 90protein usually... no treats usually
weight now is 133kg, 30 years, 186cm, male, BF 35%.
here are my measurements:
10.11 - 7 o.clock- 0,4 pepsi
11.11 - 7 o.clock- 0,4 water
12.11 - 16 o.clock- 0,8 water
13.11 - 17 o.clock- 1,3 pepsi
14.11 - 9 o.clock- 0,6 pepsi
15.11 - 15 o.clock - 0,4 cake
16.11 - 9 o.clock - 0,5
16.11 - 17 o.clock - 1,7 ( measured after eating)
17.11 7 o.clock- 0,4
19.11 - 11 o.clock- 0,7
19.11 - 15 o.clock 0,6
19.11. 7 o.clock- 0,3
19.11. 22 o.clock - 0,5
20.11 7 o.clock- 0,6
1 week only water:
25.11 - 0,8
27.11. - 0,7
27.11 - 1,1
28.11 - 0,3
28.11.-0,3
they just seem to drop instantly after eating and also stop burning fat somehow!?
what can I do?

To be honest, on low carb, I lost very fast in the very beginning (water - no longer needed as much in order to transport carbs, as I was eating minimal carbs), but then my weight loss came to a halt, until I reduced my calories.
Some people seem to be able to keep eating a lot of calories on low carb and keep losing weight, but on my old low carb board, there were always "Do you have to restrict calories?" threads with a couple of people saying "no," and a lot of people saying "yes."
ETA: I'm talking with ketosis-level carbs (for me, that was always 20 or under; for other people, it could be anywhere from 35 down to 10 or so).0 -
By the way, are you certain of that 1800 calories measurement? Do you track your cals and weigh everything?0

I'd ask this on the low carb group. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-group
lots of great folks there (not saying LAWoman isn't...just saying there's more there).0 -
Blood ketones? Do you stick yourself to get ketone reading? What meter are you using.
I am using the $15 breath analyser from eBay to know when I am in or out but since the scale is for alcohol instead of acetone the numbers are only a relative relationship and not values with meaning is my guess.
Sabine thanks for the link.

Like any other diet or program, the body is amazing at adjusting for metabolism. Have you tried at all with increasing the intensity of your exercise (if you do any?)

Why is your goal lower than mine when you weigh almost twice as much as me?
I'd recommend eating a more reasonable goal and to buy a food scale to ensure you are eating at the deficit you've chosen. If you're way above, then that's your answer regarding slower weihgt loss.0
