Jawbone Up sync issue with MyFitnessPal

Im having issues with the Step data to show withing my myfinesspal. Originally once i synced my device with UP, the data would take a few minutes to show within the myfitnesspal app. Now none of the data will show for today and as of yesterday the caloric adjustment doesn't show either as cardio exercise. Am I missing a configuration setting?

My Jawbone arrived in the post yesterday. & I've not been able to get them to sync either

The issue I've had with syncing the 2 together is that MFP will add the exercise calories to what I've already eaten. Shouldn't it SUBTRACT that calories from what I've already eaten? I spent those calories, I didn't eat them. It's frustrating when I'm trying to figure out how many calories I have left...
