Ana recovery dietician calories suggestion

I have been recovering from Ana about a month now and experiencing extreme hunger sometimes. I have gained 4kg from October. i am now 45.5kg/165cm. my lowest was July 38kg. today I went to see my dietician and I told her that I have crazy appetite maybe 3 or 4 times a week and I would eat 3000 to 5000 cals on these days. she said this is binge and I need to eat 1800 calories a day, it will makes me gain 1 pound a week. she also said whenever I have the urge to binge I should stay with friends and try not to be alone. I kind of uncertain abt what she said. I just feel 1800 a day might be too low for someone who is in recovery. or maybe she thinks I am close to a normal weight so I don't have too much to gain. i would like to know what u guys think. thank u!

    Well, we are not your dietitian nor doctor so we cannot definitely tell you what is right or wrong for you. Though doing the math quickly 1800 does seem appropriate for your height, age, and weight in order to gain. I doubt she would think you're nearing a normal weight, as you are still quite low weight wise for your height. As for being with someone when you want to binge, that seems like a good plan to keep you from going overboard and possibly moving from one problem to another. Good luck with your recovery.

    ETA: If you were approaching a "normal" or acceptable weight range, then I'm sure they would let you know.

    It isn't any better to gain fast than to lose fast.

    Bingeing is just another food disorder that receives far less attention than anorexia and bulimia - it means you still haven't developed a healthy relationship with food, which is your recovery goal.

    If you don't trust your dietician, you need to find a new one. However, phrases like "makes me feel better whenever I crave" really does sound like you need plenty of guidance as you continue your recovery. Guidance from people who know you and your individual situation, not strangers on the internet.

    I would trust the advice of someone who knows the specifics of your condition over that which you find in your online searching. Anyone can put what they want on the internet, and that doesn't meant that it's correct, or the best course of action for you. If you are confused by all means make an appointment with your dietitian again to go over everything and clarify the things you are not properly understanding. I'm sure they would be more than happy to help you understand your recovery plan.
