I just wanted to rant to here it goes..

I lost quite a bit of weight slacked off in the middle for a few months gained 3-4 lbs backs and now working on getting fit again. Did not lose much but I guess other people are seeing changes as they are asking me what I am doing and all that. My friends who are also my roommates tells me everyday they want to start what I am doing but they never will and keep on offering me junk inspite of knowledge I want to eat healthy. My co-workers are worst, keeps on telling me they want the exercise videos I do and then next moment go on advising me on how calorie counting is pointless and never worked for them and that they can never diet even if they try and no diet works for them. Its kind of pointless telling them that I am not on a diet and just improving my lifestyle overall. They laugh at me coz I log my calories everyday. Its just I feel like an alien sometimes. I am just glad I have a supportive boyfriend who even though he tried and failed in calorie counting supports me fully. He is improving his lifestyle without counting calories but just by making better choices in food and going to the gym everyday and to each his own. I did not even bother telling my parents that I exercise coz I want to be more fit coz I know they just would not understand.

People feel insecure when people are motivated and successful. My mother lost a good amount of weight and her overweight sister would always make comments about how she never ate, etc. A few years later, she went on a fast and lost a ton of weight. In hindsight, she was probably just jealous of my mom's weight loss because she wanted it for herself. It's their problem, not yours. Don't let them make you feel bad for wanting to do something to better yourself.
