Hi I was just wondering if anyone has done the 30 day shred only and has worked to loose weight? My only form exercise besides walking is the exercise video 30 day shred just wondering if it works or does it not burn enough calories. I'm waiting for my heart rate montior to come so I can really find out how many calories I am really burning.

I take a brisk walk daily, about 2.5 miles. I try to increase my pace every day. I also do 30 DS about 5x a week. When I added in 30 DS, my weight went up for a couple days, then it started dropping. Even better than that is the changes in my body. My waist is smaller, I'm starting to see indentions on either side of my abs, and my thighs are getting smaller. I don't plan on taking measurements until I move onto level 2. I just finished L1D6.
I wear a HR monitor during this exercise.
I plan on starting weight training as soon as finances and life allow it. In the meantime, I'm reading up on weightlifting andworking with Jillian, I'm satisfied with the results.0 -
Worked for me. Anything burns enough calories as long as you're taking in less than you're burning (and you're not taking in TOO little). That said, at about 225 I was burning around 230 for Lvl 2 on 30DS by my HRM, can't recall the others right now. So, if you enter it as circuit training, which I know is the common mfp exercise people enter it as, you'll likely enter too many calories burned.0

My wife and I did it last year, over a period of a few months cycled through from the beginner, to intermediate to "advanced." We also tracked calories and stayed within our calorie count on MFP. It is effective and toning the body. I didn't notice as much "weight loss" as I thought I would have liked back then, but I did notice that I was toning up, clothes were fitting more loosely, etc.
In short, it does/did work. I've moved on to more intense exercises, but with similar style as 30 DS. (I went to Biggest Loser Boot camp with Bob Harper and have moved up to more intense exercising). I notice that these types of exercising work great for my body, helping tone up the chest, arms, flatten the abs, tone legs, etc. Also, I feel like I am getting a good workout each day. On days that I am very tired, I like the ability to simplify it to my physical ability.
(I'm doing some boot camp style classes at my local rec center now and also doing the Fitness Blender 8 week program---all free videos on youtube. www.fitnessblender.com)0 -

I used a HRM for 30DS recently and only burned about in the range of 160-180 calories. For me, that's not enough and I also added walking/running last summer when I was dedicated to a month of it. I would say that I had great success with 30DS for increasing my strength - no credit goes to the walking/running for those big changes. I wanted a larger daily calorie deficit without cutting food.
30DS has allowed me to do longer workouts now by Jillian. This month, I have been alternating No More Trouble Zones and Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism. Those are twice as long as 30DS and I burn around 340 calories with the first and 440 with the second. I could have never started with those and I now see 30DS as a great starting point.0 -

When I did the 30 DS in February, I didn't do any other form of exercise. I lost about 4 lbs, but lost 10 inches overall. Most of them in my waist, belly, and hips. I was more than happy with the results I got.
Your diet plays a big role. I didn't follow her meal plan, but watched what I ate and cooked healthier. I stayed at around 1650 total calories for the day.0
