If you feel fine, you're probably ok. There's a slight risk of getting gall stones when losing weight quickly. It's not common - maybe a 5% risk. You can google "gallbladder symptoms" to see what you should watch out for. But if you feel fine, keep going..

Aside from that, the only other issue is you'll probably lose some muscle mass from rapid weight loss, which would lower your metabolism. But you can minimize that by doing strength training, using heavy weights. Have you been doing that, or are you just doing cardio?

Why would you ignore a doctor's advice?

    This ^

6kg in 6 weeks is just over 2lbs per week loss and it's generally not recommended to lose more than 2lbs per week. Maybe that's why your doctor said it was too fast.

your profile says you have more than 100lbs to lose, so you should be fine for a while. But do slow it down after a few week/months. And eat lots of protein rich foods to try and keep as much muscle mass as you can.

Unless you have a medical condition that your doctor knows about but we don't, than, of course, listen to your doctor

but sugar doesnt make you fat, excess calories in any form, sugar, carbs, proteins, fats, will make you fat.......

The only danger of sugar is that when it is added to foods it makes them ore calorie dense........

as long as you count those calories you should be fine

    +1.

ETA: Also - it's your doctor.. why would you not listen to them? They know a lot more about you than strangers on the internet will...

If you have a lot of weight to lose, speak to your doctor about plans and maybe seeing a specialist like a dietician. Losing a large amount of weight is really hard and will take time. Your body will go through a lot of changes and it's great feeling like you have a "team" to support you! (No, I'm not saying HEAPS of appointments or going overboard). Having more than one professional opinion is good to help you stay on track. I know that sometimes a GP doesn't give the best advice in every situation!

Generally, losing at that rate isn't bad, but your doctor has your medical history and may be aware of something that makes it different for you.

I don't get it. You would rather get the advice of a bunch of strangers on the internet, than listen to your doctor. So you basically are just looking for someone to tell you what you want to hear. Okay unicorns and rainbows will descend.

I'd follow my doctor's advice. Why visit the doctor if I don't like what the doctor has to say? I know you're thrilled and happy and jumping for joy for the weight that you've lost. BBBBUUUUTTTT.... If the doctor says it's too fast, then slow it down.

you "about me " section says "31 from New Zealand weighs 139kg need to weigh 50kg"

can i ask.why you NEED to weigh 50kg? if its a health thing then you really should be listening to your dctor.

as your diary is private we cant even tel;l if your loosing so fast becuse your not eating, or if your eating at a good calories goal and its naturally coming off thaat quick

there is a difference between the 2. if your eating at a reasonable cut and its coming off like this naturally with that cut then it wont come off at this pace the whole time, its gonna slow right down to a nice healthy rate.
if you have cut calories really low (1200) then its coming of fast because ya not eaing enough, this will lead to binging, re ganing the weight, and maybe other problems too.

not knowing the answer to that who knows???

maybe your doctor, ya know somebody who knows you and your history probably is in the best place to give option on it and you should listen rather than being p!ssed at him/her for saying something you didnt like.

but if its the reasonable cut as said above then there is probably nothing to worry about as it will slow down its rate
