Got to start consuming less sugar

I'm doing pretty well on my diet, except for the sugar intake. I always, always go over the allotted amount, and I'm almost over by breakfast. What are some good ways to cut down on sugar that don't take away from taste, add extra calories or make me feel sick?

Why? Do you have some medical condition that requires you to limit sugar intake?

I'm of the belief that if you don't need to track it, you shouldn't track it. Keep things simple - total cals, fats, proteins. Carbs if you want to.

Unless you have a medical condition that warrants watching sugar, you shouldn't really worry about it. The recommendation on MFP is based on the American Heart Association's recommendation for ADDED/REFINED sugars that show up in all kinds of processed foods, sodas, juice, etc. It is not applicable to naturally occurring sugars in fruit and veg and the like.

This recommendation is based on the fact that a lot of people suck down soda like it's water and eat tons of processed **** that is loaded with high fructose corn syrup and refined sugar which is contributing greatly to the obesity epidemic. I hardly think an apple a day is going to be a problem. I'm always over on my sugar because I have a good 2-3 servings of nutritious fruit per day...I've lost 40 Lbs.

Between lactose and fruit, I go over everyday.

I once dated a guy that had lost 150lbs when I met him, but still weighed over 270. He even had to have plastic surgery after that weight loss. He told me (per paraphrase) that it's really sugar that makes you fat, and cutting it out as much as you can without totally eliminating it is the best way to lose inches. When I would drink 100% juice, he would drink water. We would go out to eat and I would eat a meal but he would only eat some vegetables, if anything at all. So forth and so on.
I'm trying to cut down on sugar and sugary food, but I won't eat anything I don't like, and I like sweet things.
