Taste Bud Swollen

Hello everyone,
I'm not sure if this is in the right forum so I apologize if it isn't... I have a taste bud right in the middle of the back of the roof of my mouth, it is on-again-off-again swollen. I have done a lot of research and I have whittled it down to it's either a nutrient defficiancy or an allergy.. the problem is I have a lot of minor allergies towards things (tree nuts, peanuts, coconuts, seeds), all of them light enough I could eat them still and only get a significant migraine - but not go into shock or anything... I've tried writing down the things I know I ate within an hour of the spot becoming swollen but there is no consistency. It mostly is after I eat though, and when its not ts after I've snuggled all day with my cat (allergic).
I guess my question is does anyone else have a spot like this? One that is often off and on infected/swollen? And if so any suggestions that you have done that might help? Because thus far nothing I do is helping, its just a spot that stays from anywhere from ten minutes to a full day.
Thanks for reading!

do you get regular dental checkups and cleanings? bacteria from dental plaque or tooth decay might be causing it (I get an infected taste bud on my tongue every once in awhile, but mine aren't in the same place every time). try regularly rinsing your mouth with warm salt water or hydrogen peroxide, but I also agree you should see a doctor about it. another thing, my mom used to get allergic-reaction-type hives in her mouth that were sorta-kinda similar to what you're describing here. she also tried writing down what she'd eaten and there wasn't a consistency that anyone could see between what she'd eaten and the hives. the docs still don't know what cause them and she still gets them (she's in her 70s).

Thanks everyone for the responses. I think I will just have to suck it up and go to the doctor (or dentist).
