Question about weight loss and the holiday

So I've been keeping a really strict diet and been losing weight consistently for the past few months. I weighed myself on Tuesday (11/25) and weighed 193.6. I then went on vacation to visit family for the holidays. While there I didn't really stick to my diet and ate somewhat carelessly. I came back Sunday (11/30) night and weighed myself again, weighed in at 198.4. I then proceeded to go back to my strict diet and regular workout routine. I weighed myself again today Friday (12/6) and now weigh 193.6 again. Is this normal/healthy? Was it just water weight or something like that?

3,500 calories is 1lbs of fat.0

You were retaining water (most likely from the abundance of sodium in the holiday food). Normal weight fluctuation.0

When you eat a lot more carbs your body will hold a lot more water. When you eat a lot more salt, your body will hold a lot more water.
So yes if you think you lost 5 pounds in 5 days it was probably water weight.0 -
You were retaining water from the extra sodium and glycogen (from the carbs).0
