Constant Bruising!

I have lost 37 pounds and I have noticed this time around (again) that I am bruising very easily and without reason. I get these painful, green bruises on my arms/legs which I used to attribute to working on a restaurant when I dieted before. However, now I work as a therapist so I don't really have chances to run into things or bang my legs into stuff.

My question: am I maybe missing something out of my diet to cause this? I don't mysteriously bruise when I'm not dieting or when I am larger. Does anyone else have this issue?

Thanks!

It could be anemia; it could be a vitamin deficiency, and it could also be many other things. Please see a doctor and get some bloodwork done so you will know what's wrong and how to correct it. Lots of people have to take supplements when dieting in order not to fall into deficiencies. Just don't ignore this; it's an important warning sign that your body is out of whack. Your doctor will be able to figure it out quickly. They see this all the time.

A deficiency of vitamin C, iron and vitamin K is usually associated with easy bruising.

I would get blood work done to rule out something serious. Also the blood work should show if you are lacking in certain vitamins. For me, mine showed that my Vitamin D was very low, now I am taking 2000 iu daily and feel like a new person.

FYI: I did not have any bruising, this was my annual check up through my endocrinologist.

I recently had bloodwork done, and even though I am a bit more anemic then I was last year, I am not anemic as of October. I might begin taking vitamins to see if that helps.

I agree. Get some bloodwork done! If this is a new thing happening to you than it is worthwhile checking out. It is probably harmless but there are also some more serious illnesses out there that show themselves in easy bruising.
