Anyone else with Exercise Induced Hives?

I lost weight once before and toward the end I started having histamine problems. Had a baby..... lost half of the weight then had another..... and throughout this time I developed histamine intolerance as well as exercise induced hives. I had hoped it had gone away but tonight I had urticaria marks everywhere I was sweaty. It hinders me from wanting to sweat because the marks BURN like beestings until my skin cools but I also understand if I weighed 80 lbs less I would sweat a whole lot less... But yet I cannot seem to get going because I hate the hives and well it is just hard to get going. Anyone else out there who understands me? I am looking for accountability partners too

You can try taking an anti-histamine (such as benadryl or reactive) before you work out?0

Yes I can.... though I hate feeling dependent on a medication... THOUGH I guess I can look at it this way. Benedryl today or any slew of medications tomorrow when I end up diabetic or high blood pressure.. I wishI could go back to the age of 20 when my body worked right and i looked good LOL0

I used to get them. One of my docs suggested benadryl before working out, but like you, I did not feel like being on anything. Eventually getting hives became non-existent.0

Have you tried swimming or other pool exercises? If I don't sweat, it doesn't happen.
Mine are worst if the air is cool to cold and I get sweaty, so, actually, the more I sweat, the better it can be. For the hives, at least. It is almost like it is my sweat glands learning to work again.0 -

Same thing happens to me. Mostly in winter when I start out cold and then get sweaty. I had no idea what it was at first. It was all over my back and stomach. It doesn't always happen so I don't take the medicine because more often it would be a waste of time to take.0

My husband swells up! His lip gets huge and his heart races. His dr said it is exercise induced anaphylaxis. His usually happens when it is hot and humid. The dr also thinks that there could be a food trigger along with the exercise, but we aren't sure what it is. Maybe tomatoes? So, maybe try to see if there is something that triggers the hives along with the exercise.0

I get horribly itchy and burning hives all up and down my legs if I don't take an antihistamine.
I'm allergic to a lot of things so I should be taking them daily-- but I always forget, and I definitely regret it if I realize I've forgotten at the gym. It also takes me like four days of taking it regularly to get any sort of noticeable relief, so I'm not sure it's something you can just take before you go to the gym.
And I also noticed that the hives usually subside as soon as I start to sweat, as others have mentioned here. Painful to get there with the hives though haha0
