Afternoon all,

I'm Martin, 26 and from England .

I currently weight just under 19st(265lbs), I've always been a big eater so always been a fairly big lad. I didn't mind too much really, but recently been doctors and told I need to loose weight(which I knew just didn't want to admit it).

Lately, I've been getting chest pains, and can feel my heart beating quite heavy, and get out of breathe quickly now. I'm also a heavy smoker which I'm trying to cut down and finally quit.

For work, I work in a warehouse so I'm quite active in the day, but eat large amounts when I get home for dinner and nothing healthy, plus not active once I'm home.

I've never been bothered about what foods I eat, but need to learn what to eat in the day, before the gym and after the gym. I'm easily confused but I went on a healthy shopping trip earlier so it's a start.

I've joined a gym and a local Rugby team, so hopefully get me more active apart from work.

Hope your all doing well with your targets and hopefully make some new friends and chat to a few of you soon.

Martin x

Hi Martin, you are doing some good things. If you want to lose weight effectively, then you need to learn. the forums and the sticky posts at the top of each section are good starts, which contain valuable information.

There are plenty of UK posters, but good advice and friends can be made from all over.

Does the Dr know about the chest pains?

The smoking would worry me. Have you tried vaping?

    How tall are you?

Well done for making a start on the road back to being healthy. Good luck.

Yikes, see your doctor about those chest pains! Good luck with your fitness goals. You're off to a good start!
  • Hey, thanks for the welcomes

Seen the Dr with me getting like heart palpitations and sent me for blood test which I'm waiting for the results.

Have had a look around the forums, seems some great people here and hopefully I'll learn more
