glasses and weight loss...

Hey MFP peoples!
I have been trying to find glasses for a while now and really dislike how they look on me, and I am in the process of losing about 30 lbs (160-->130)...
Just wondering if I should hold off until I lose the weight?

Did anyone find this process easier after losing some weight? Or also, did your glasses go from looking good to not fitting/not looking good after weight loss?

I'm really desperate to get a new pair since it has been almost 10 years (!!) since I bought glasses, but I don't want to waste money if they go from yay to nay with weight loss!

Thoughts?

ps - I have no idea if this is the right spot for this post (?)

My weight went up and down about 50 lbs. with my last pair of glasses and I didn't notice any difference in fit, performance or even "face fit."

However, it may help if you are generally more happy with what you see in the mirror.

BTW, if you have frames you like, you can get new lenses put in them.

Thanks, good to know! My last frames are so old the metal finish is literally chipping off... def not an option... I think a decade is long enough fashion-wise also... lol

If it's been that long since you bought glasses, then you probably don't know that you can get great glasses online for less than $10. http://www.zennioptical.com All you need is your prescription and pupil distance.

I've not noticed a difference in the fit of my glasses, but if you're concerned, buy a pair now and a pair later. Or if you're like me, a pair now and a dozen pairs later :)

Honestly, I don't look good in glasses so ordering online is not an option.
I actually ordered 10 'try on' pairs via Warby Parker, had them shipped to a PO Box across the border (I'm in Canada) and then drove there with my boyfriend, tried all of them on, and ALL of them looked terrible (even bf agreed), so I mailed them back and drove home.... lol. I would rather have one really well fitted frame then a bunch I don't really like.

I also went to a tonne of optical shops and even the opticians couldn't find anything that flattered my face.

I guess I should just pick the best of the worst and move on if losing weight won't really make them look/fit differently.
