I am on my last month of Jillian's Total Body Revolution. After I am finished I was thinking about cleansing or detoxing before starting the Insanity program. Just to re boot. I have spent countless hours online researching this and am still stumped. Anyone ever done this and have any ideas / suggestions as to something natural, safe, and effective. Thank you in advance for your help and time :happy:

    What are you detoxing/cleansing? Your body does a fine job of removing waste if you eat good food and drink water. No need to "reset" it or clean it out.

    I have yet to see one reputable source identify one toxin that is removed by a cleanse that your body doesn't remove on its own. What is your goal in cleansing/detoxing?

    Look for these words in any product to let you know they have no idea what they're talking about:

    * Cleanse
    * Detoxify
    * Anything that claims "without exercise" or "without changing how you eat"
    * Homeopathic
    * Claims of spot reduction
    * "In only (single digit number) minutes a day"

    Things that add negative points also include:
    * Specifically for (subset of population, e.g. women, men, over forty, etc.)
    * Celebrity endorsements - double if its someone who stars in TV, an order of magnitude if it's Suzanne Sommers or Jenny McCarthy
    * As Seen in (any) magazine - double the negative points if it was on the cover

    That's a good set of base lines. :)

    My body has always had a problem removing waste. Probiotics help but I am no where near "regular" I was just thinking that if I could find something safe and natural that I could do every so often that would be helpful, and I figured in between workout programs would be a good time.

    Fiber, my dear. Eat veggies with high fiber and even supplement if you need to. Sometimes I add Psyllium Husk to my diet. Quest Bars are also an excellent source of natural fibers.

    Have you talked to your doctor about your regularity issue?

    Search "detox" or "cleanse" on the boards and you will find information......the short answer is......waste of money and they do not work

    I have talked to my doctor, and he suggested fiber as well. I do eat alot of vegetables and have tried fiber bars, fiber gummies... Well you get the picture. The probiotics do seem to help.

    Fiber, water, coffee, etc. If you still don't get the scoots, then go see a doctor. Don't waste your time/money with detox/cleanse nonsense. If you had some kind of legit poison in your body that needed detoxifying, you'd probably be dead.

    I did the Ultimate Reset in march and it greatly helped me get my diet straightened out and de-bloated me a ton before I started Insanity. And all of the food is super tasty for following the meal plan they lay out for you, and very filling. I had a hard time eating everything some days.

    ETA - I'm now in week 8 of Insanity :)

    Thank you all for your responses. I wasn't really referring to wanting to run out to the store and buy something that claims to be a detoxifying cleanse or anything. I was more along the lines referring to maybe juicing for a few days. I already incorporate green smoothies into every day, but thought juicing or something for a short period of time would help. Thanks again for your help. Hope you all have a great day.

    I really like the Arbonne 7 day detox. I feel great during and after and it always gives me allergy relif. I dont know why but it does so I try to do it 2 times a year.

    I moved and dont know an Arbonne dealer so I usually order it through Amazon. I also use their detox tea regularly which I love!
