I work long hours and have very little time to work out. I use to do P90x and I like it. I live in an apartment that has no where to put a pull up bar now. Plus I have no time to do that long of a work out. Looking for something else I can do at home thats shorter. Any Recommendations on anything and how did it work for you? I would like it to include weights and cardio. But shorter length.

Thank you in advanace.

What type of equipment do you have access to? Are you will to purchase equipment based on the routine you choose?

My first thought would be an adjustable dumbbell set, a bench, and some gymnastics rings. That will be very versatile while requiring relatively little space. You could do most of the major lifts with dumbbells, and the rings would be great for body weight work and stability training.

Cardio is pretty straight forward... do whatever you like. Are you able to get out side to run and/or bike? Do you have access to water to swim? Jumping rope is cheap and easy, and is a lot harder than many people realize.

I do have some dumbells not a lot and I have wanted to purchase the adjustable ones but will have to be after the new year they are pretty pricey. I don't have enough room for a bench. I don't normally have a lot of time to get out and bike or run and I hate running btw not my thing. Unless its summer no access to a pool and I am not comfortable in a swim suit right now .

Start with your dumbbells, maybe buy a set of resistance bands (cheap), and go to work. Look up some body weight program like Convict Conditioning or You Are Your Own Gym if you want something more structured.

Cardio is cardio, so that's really up to your own preferences. Heck, you could do 20 burpees can call it a day.

You can buy a nice set of resistance bands from Amazon for $30. I live in an apartment in a city, so space is an issue here, on non-cardio days I can't get to the gym I'll use resistance bands. The set I bought has a little carrying/storage bag, a door stop thing, two handles and an ankle strap for leg workouts, along with diagrams of what to do with them. It isn't quite the same as lifting at the gym, but I can still get an awesome work out in with those things, good enough to feel really sore the next day! Edit to add, this is the set I bought, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/7245456313/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You could also look into body weights, the guy over at travel strong has an extensive list here, http://travelstrong.net/bodyweight-exercises/

My husband and I have also considered buying an aerobic stepper, those can be packed away pretty easily. But we are looking for a good one to come up at a cheap price. If you want other cardio options, youtube is full of videos, zumba is a favorite of mine on days I just want to dance, which isn't often.

I love my step bench..it's one of the old Reebok ones they used in gyms. I have five risers on each side ..i use it for my weight bench along with some fun step classes. I workout at home and i agree bands, dumbbells are the way to go.

    Go to www.FitnessBlender.com

There are numerous workouts that require only you, short and long. They are all free and the married couple offer a multitude of choices.

Check out youtube and find some workout vids. Also think about investing in a balance ball and resistance bands (and maybe a door hook for the resistance bands to simulate pull ups - I got a set of bands from Amazon by Black Mountain).

When I don't feel like doing a set dvd or youtube vid, I'll do 10x10 of reverse crunches on the balance ball, push ups on the balance ball, kettlebell swings, and weighted goblet squats. It takes about 25-30 minutes and it hits a lot of muscle groups.

Or you could always invest in another dvd program. You liked P90X, now Tony has P90X3 which is 30 minutes, Shaun T has T25 which is 25 minutes, and Insanity Max 30 which is 30 minutes. I'm sure Jillian Michaels has a 30 Day Shred, which I think is 20 minutes a day for 30 minutes (I've never done this program before so please correct me if I'm wrong).

Disclaimer: I am not now, nor have I ever been a Beachbody coach, and no I do not need a coach so please don't message me.
