I gained about 30 pounds after my 5th child, she was a micro premie, weighing just 1pd, 10oz. She was born due to me developing HELLP syndrome My body basically shut down, my liver and kidney's stopped working blood pressure was 260/180. I was lucky to make it. She survived but it was a stressful 18 months. I also had a 16 month daughter when she was born. (She also was a surprise pregnancy, my hubby had a vasectomy when i was preggo with my 4th, needless to say hes since had another..lol.)
Anyway....I never felt right after that. I had brain fog, weight gain, depression, I slept all the time. I thought I was just worn out and stressed. Finally went to the dr when I gained 10 pounds in 2 weeks) He tested my thyroid and sent me to specialist.

I was on basic thyroid meds for a year, the weight gain stopped, but I was unable to lose weight, still depressed (not as bad, but not good) still tired etc.

went to a different dr, she switched my meds and slowly added T3 to my naturthroid. It was awesome! I was me again. I had energy, worked out, joined MFP, and over 6 months lost 28 pounds and have felt great up until 3 months ago.

I have gained 15 pounds back. I am not nearly as low as I was when diagnosed, but no energy, very sleepy. I have been back to dr. she said my labs show I am extremely hyper, and she took me off all my t3. It hasn't helped at all. I don't feel worse, just not better. I have not gained weight since joining MFP again, and going off my medication (still on naturethroid), but still no energy, no get up and go to exercise. I have always been active before all of this. I was an athlete, playing competitive sports until I was in mid 30's, and always enjoyed exercise...its just I have no energy.

Any advice from someone who has been thru this? I am desperate. I will be calling my Dr. back about this too.

Could be your adrenals, did your Doc check your cortisol? You might need a low dose of that for a little while.
