Another Journey Begins

Hi Everyone. How lucky I was to stumble upon this site!! I'm 62 and have battled with my weight for all of my adult life. Lose, Gain, Lose, Gain ... gain, gain, gain. You know the drill. Decided late last year to try again but from a different viewpoint. So, I made a New Year's Resolution (for the first time ever) to GET HEALTHY. Now, I don't have any serious illnesses or anything. But in order to share in my daughter's life as well as my granddaughter's life, I need to be healthy and stay healthy. Being obese is NOT healthy.
So, I'm using behavior modification techniques to change how I shop, how I eat, how I react when "that" craving hits. I'm also realistic in realizing that since I want to lose about 1/2 of my body weight, it will be a long road. I have lost 44 lbs since the first of the year. Yippee!!
My one sticking point is exercise. So I was surfing the web and found this site. I do walk every morning but need to increase the pace. However, I enjoy my morning walk and don't want to mess it up. Maybe a faster pace will be ok later but , right now, I'll stick with getting my walk in every day. I have wanted to increase my activity level and better track my food intake. This site looks like the prefect place to do it.
I'm hoping that by incorporating this site and logging my food and activities on a daily basis, I can motivate myself to increase my physical activities. I've dug out my resistance bands and hand weights and have used them the last two days ... just starting with small increments right now.
Wishing all of you success in reaching your goals! :flowerforyou:
