You are going to get a wide range of unprofessional opinions. Here is one of them:
Most doctors I've seen seem to recommend a one-a-day type. Supplements outside of that would depend on your personal needs and you should consult a doctor.
My PT stopped taking her multi-vitamin a few months ago and said she hasn't noticed any difference. Obviously it's probably a long term thing though. But I would think as long as you are hitting the majority of the major vitamins and minerals in your foods you don't really need one. I checked the label on mine and it is full of artificial junk. That certainly can't be good for your body. I've started looking for all-natural shake powder that cover the majority of the vitamins/minerals that are in a multi-vitamin.0
