Travel Anxiety

Hey everyone,
Btw feel free to add and message me!
I am headed on a trip in 15 days, and I must say right now I am more nervous than excited.
Last year I hit my goal weight but I have since then gained some of it back.
I find trips difficult when trying to lose weight because its harder to control what food you will be eating, and sometimes there is no gym access. Anyways, I would like to see progress (with my eating habits, motivation, and a small weight loss) by the time of the trip.
To put my mind at ease and so I have the ability to indulge without too much fear (if I choose to do so). If you have any motivating comments or tips or anything please comment
I could really use the encouragement, as my own motivation seems to be failing me recently!!
Thanks guys! We are on this path together!

I travel a lot, and I mean a TON for work. I am in Europe 5-6 times per month. Pack a comfy pair of shoes and make sure you always head out for a walk daily. I also tend to eat a bigger breakfast and avoid stopping for lunch during the day; only consume a snack. That way I have more to eat at dinner. Also, depending on where you are traveling, portion sizes outside the US are generally significantly smaller. But if you are heading to an AI or somewhere in the states, that won't help.0

It is hard to help without knowing what the trip is, but here goes......
Will you be able to track on MFP? If so, do so. Even if you are going over your goals at least you will know where you are going wrong and adjust the next day.
If it is an AI or cruise use portion control. You don't have to eat everything offered at the buffet!
Keep water on hand for if you feel like snacking or a higher calorie drink.
Have sweets and deserts as a treat, don't go without if that is what you like- just limit them.
Remember salad is your friend; dressing isn't, nor are a lot of the fancy toppings.
If deep fried or heavily sauced is one meal make the next lighter: grilled protein with salad etc.
Don't worry about a gym, burn calories exploring the place(s) you are visiting. Walking and climbing stairs can burn a lot of calories when you are a tourist.
I lost weight, (even though I ate like a pig) on a trip to Europe, we were walking 5-6 hours a day, minimum!
Most of all have fun, don't make the trip a struggle with food. You really can't put on that much if you are away for a couple of weeks.
Oh, don't forget, quite often one gains water weight when away from home, so don't believe your scale for the first week or two when you get home.
Cheers, h.0
