Is there a correlation between calorie deficit and this theory?

You can't have an intellectual conversation and include humor.

    because you signed a non-compete.

I would liken your comment to the protein shake I had two nights ago...chocolate cake w/ butter pecan ice cream inside my protein shake. Anything is possible!

Only a spurious correlation. Interestingly enough, most correlations made within the MFP community are also spurious in nature...I believe this further validates my theory.

    True anything is possible.

I feel a dry tone can camouflage many a humorous statement. Compliance officer who must enforce non-compete will be unsure if you are intentionally funny - or just awkward.

I think you get bonus points if you cause awkwardness and additional funnies.

I usually get this type of reaction...

Unfortunately I'm usually the only one in on the joke...and I'm perfectly fine with that.

Not necessarily, but there is a correlation between sugar intake and this theory: the more you think sugar is the devil....

Perhaps it's a combination of ingested Distilled Water and all pure toxins invading your body?

    Yeah, that's probably it.

Maybe we should all start using fonts to imply tone in posts... Like Comic Sans for the happy, sunshine-y posts, Chiller for snark,... I'm at a loss for which font should imply sarcasm though...

    "Sarctalics"
    http://glennmcanally.com/sarcastic/

"The Sarcastic Font movement was launched in 2002. In 2011, interns at BBH Labs came up with Sartalics. A method to achieve the same sarcastic fonty goodness utilizing some simple CSS. This method is far easier to implement on the web.

You can actually download the font: http://glennmcanally.com/sarcastic/fonts/arials.ttf

Great idea. For sarcasm, how about a grey font on a grey background. That hidden meaning of the text only appears when you select it :)

My sarcastic font is which ever font is the default in the program I am using. I don't really know another tone. It's a blessing and a curse, depending on who you ask.
