"i've lost control of eating and just cannot seem to get a grip"
The best piece of advice I can give is to get control of your eating. Gym/exercise is great, but that takes time out of your day that you may not have. The eating part of the equation? That's something that takes virtually no time.0 -
You can run your mouth, but you can't outrun it.
Exercise is a great addition to your health journey, but it doesn't do much without the calorie deficit. Instead of using food as your me-time, how about a bath, a cup of tea, or throw the tots in a stroller and take a nice walk? It's all so much easier said than done, I know. I've been there - had two kids back to back (10 months apart). Gotta get a grip on the intake first though. Good luck! Love up on those new babies too.0 -

FInd another one or two things that you enjoy. Try out a few until you have things that work for you.
Also read Geneen Roth's (book on Amazon and at library) to read how she teaches treating food as food and nurturing ourselves other ways.0 -
the way I survive work is by making big pots of food at the weekend, or when the urge hits me and bringing it in for lunch in a tub and microwaving
favourites at the moment for me are
- vegetables (aubergine, courgette, mushroom, carrot, onion, celery peppers, tins chopped tomatoes) with chilli spices: chilli, garlic, fresh thyme, oregano, hot smoked paprika, bay leaf, salt and lots of cumin - eaten with 150g rice and cheddar cheese sprinkled on top
- minestrone soup (big chunky, with pasta)
- butternut squash risotto (eaten with watercress, spinach and rocket salad)0 -
5 month old, are you breastfeeding? I've heard that makes you feel a lot hungrier (because you are burning up to 500 extra calories a day producing milk.)
Be kind to yourself, your body has been through a lot a very short time again. Focus on getting some healthy foods that are high in protein and dietary fiber like beans (lentils and black beans are great for this) dark leafy greens and squashes/potatoes. If you fill up on healthier foods you won't have as much room for snacks and it will help you get back on track.0 -
Consistency is key for progress. Are you hitting a set calorie goal every day? Do you have specific macros? Exercising more often would be helpful. I do all of my workouts (6 days/week) from home and it works really well.
Probably the best thing you can do is find a support group that you can plug into that will help encourage and help you be consistent. I know that my Facebook group did that for me. I was having a really hard time, and that group made the difference.0 -
She is now 6 months. I just weaned her from breast feeding. I was so fit before kids, and was almost back to pre preg weight before I got pregnant with baby 2. 2 kids has really put me through the loop. I am on depo, though I'm going on the pill once this 3 months is over, and am on Zoloft. I've heard both can increase weight... though I was on depo for 3 years from age 18-21 and didn't have weight gain then. who knows, the body changes. Not to mention I work 40 hours a week as a social worker and dont' get home till after dark these days. The only time to get the kids out is on the weekends. we are an active family, can't wait till spring... with warm sunny evenings to take the kids outside again. eating is my thing... working on it... advice for diastasis recti? I'm doing the CFS method now and seeing some results.0

Start by logging your food, everyday, no matter what, whether you go over your calorie goal or not.
Then you can start looking at trends and such (high stress days, low exercise days, etc) and adjust/plan ahead.0
