Tracking Calories, Etc. for Marinade

Question for you guys - how do you track calories for a marinade? I have two boneless skinless chicken thighs (224 g, measured raw this am) marinating in 2 T of Trader Joe's Soyaki sauce. Most of the sauce will be thrown away before I grill and eat the chicken tonight. How would you go about tracking the sauce?

Honestly, I wouldn't track that. If you are pulling the chicken out of the sauce you will prob have an insignificant amount of calories from the sauce. Now if you are pouring the sauce over the chicken I'd measure that out.

I can get very OCD, so I do not allow myself to think about measuring the marinades on things. I just make sure to scrape off excess marinade, and then if I want measure out and log a Tbsp or two of the sauce from the pan. I've been doing that for a few months and have been losing weight just fine.

You could weigh the container as you pour in the marinade, then again after you remove the chicken to cook it. Subtract the remaining from the total and have an idea of how much sauce you are consuming. If its strictly for flavor, you could also be a rebel and not count it ;) I use a small amount of marinade on my ground chicken, but the chicken absorbs the marinade, so I just log it.

In the grand scheme of things, unless you are pouring it on your cooked chicken and eating it all, it really isn't a big deal.
