Hi, I just started MFP yesterday...for the 3rd time. Hey, they say the third time's the charm. My 1st goal is to lose 100 lbs. Maybe more once I get there. One step at a time. It's overwhelming but, I've seen people on MFP who have done it so, I'm dedicated to changing my bad habits and getting healthier.

Several years ago I was diagnosed with unilateral breast cancer. I went through chemo, radiation and surgery. My oncologist keeps telling me I need to get healthy (i.e. lose weight). It's been hard because I have arthritis in my knees and lower back. It's a pain (literally) for me to walk for long distances. When I walk my dog, after 2 blocks my knees are screaming (even when they're wrapped). My dr. said to try yoga but, my knees say differently. Woe is me :'( Can you hear the violin playing in the background? OK, enough excuses. I've started dancing (with Richard Simmons and the Wii -Just Dance). Seems that I can do this. And the Wii is actually fun!

I've always been the kind of person who believes that I don't need help. With anything. I still believe it is ALL UP TO ME. But, maybe some support will help me keep my resolve. 30+ years ago I quit biting my nails. 21 years ago I quit smoking. Easy breezy, no problem. This year I will quit eating badly (and too much).

I'm tired of feeling and looking bad. This time I HAVE to do this
