why does both show different amount of calories left?
have linked them
myfitnesspal says I have 1201 left to burn whereas fitbit says 1500
any ideas why?

They are two different plans. You linked them, but that means the MFP calorie goal is affected by the Fitbit activity reading/estimate, not that they are now the same plan. Follow the MFP plan if you're trying to use the two in sync.
Are you sure MFP says you have 1201 left to burn? MFP usually tells you how much you have left to eat.
