Stay within your calorie goals, whether deficit or maintenance. Log. Be honest. Allow treats and xmas dinner within reason. Going hog wild just because its Christmas time makes baby Jesus cry.

Moderation. For me, just staying away from the sweets, eating in moderation, and not skipping a week of workouts, keeps me on track during the holiday.

keep exercising. That's the key! Try to go for a walk with the family on Christmas day, you're sitting around enough.
Give yourself some slack on Christmas day/boxing day but don't go crazy on the other days. It's not about how you eat on those days but on the 363 other days a year

Treat it as any other day. Pre-log and be conscientious in your choices (use moderation).

I won't be logging because its Christmas and it's once a year :) however I plan on exercising still 5 times a week and then going back to logging after boxing day as its countdown to new years then :) I also won't be splurging at all. I'll be having a healthy breakfast still and then a lot veg on my plate at dinner (no meat as I'm veggie) but only going to have a few potatoes :) I'm hoping I won't gain a lot of weight back but once Christmas is over I am going to definetly get myself sorted! Enjoy Christmas day though its only once a year!

Take a break from your diet, most need that anyway. Just don't pig out and if that's impossible then log and stay around maintenance.

Keep moving, limit the treats as best you can. Only eat stuff that's going to be delicious.

That's what I'm doing. I've lost 28 pounds since August and I will have a houseful of people. Plus side: I'm doing almost all of the cooking and I can make healthy choices.

I don't know if I'll log. I don't want to be whipping out my phone at the dinner table.

Everyone else will be .. they will be texting each other, you know it. They will just be doing it under the table where you can't see.

I'm going to try to keep as active as possible round it.
I plan to have a run on Christmas eve and on Boxing Day. Booked a load of PT sessions today including next Saturday, Monday 22nd and Sunday 28th to ensure I'm back to good habits as soon as possible after the holiday.
Like sabine says - I'm only going to eat the stuff that feels delicious enough!
I plan to log what I eat every day (but won't be concerned if I go over on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day - after all, red is a festive colour, right? :)
Two days won't kill my weight loss for the week, let alone longer term.

Log. Get some exercise. Enjoy the festivities. Try to exercise moderation, but if you go over your calorie goal, don't be hard on yourself... just get back to the deficit thing the next day/when festivities are over.

Enjoy the family favorites but don't use the Holiday as an excuse to eat yourself sick. I was worried about Christmas day at my parents' house because my Mother is an amazing cook and baker. She usually keeps their meals pretty healthy but goes nuts at Christmas. I am been planning to take fruit and veggies.

Last week my 22 year old nephew was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. He was worried about Christmas dinner as well. We are going to be each other's support that day to keep from overdoing the goodies.

This will be the first holiday since I've started losing weight (thanksgiving isn't a thing in the UK) and I'm a little scared. I will eat a little more for sure, I'm not going to ruin Christmas for myself and others by being super anal about my food but at the same time I don't want to go crazy. I know Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be high calorie days but I plan to keep the rest of the week normal so I'm hoping I can stay the same for the week, or at the worst gain 1-2lbs and then take it off and more the following week.

Just don't overeat, and if you do at least be mindful of what you are eating.

The holidays are going to happen every year. I don't worry about them. I just eat the goodies in moderation and log them. I also will set my calories at maintenance and continue workouts the week of to help with any extra I may eat. It worked for me over thanksgiving and I will do it again for Christmas and new years.

Pay attention to how your stomach feels - if it says 'full' and your mouth says 'keep going' then its definitely time to stop. This is what I try to do every day, not be deterred by celebrations, and other excuses (at least they were for me) to go hog wild. I realized I want to exercise my mindfulness muscle.

Also, if you can stop for a few minutes mid-meal, you can back off overeating; I don't know why, but a two minute full stop always seem to override the desire to keep on going at all costs.

I plan on just keeping up with my logging and exercise. Possibly turning down that extra piece of pumpkin pie and loading up on my veggies during dinner. =)

If your making the food, log before you get to the table.

This. Enjoy the holidays in moderation and just continue on afterwards. Enjoy your favorite treats as oftentimes they're only around one time a year.
