I hope everyone is doing great! My name is Mark, I'm a father of 5 kids, and married for nearly 20 years.
Weight has always been an issue for me. My latest hypothesis is I do too much stuff alone, so with this app and community, I'm hoping to tackle my weight with new online friends.
At my heaviest, I weighed 290 pounds (that was about 10 years ago). The Atkins Diet and a low carb lifestyle helped me get to 230 pounds in about 2 years. Since then I've been bouncing between 240 and 250 pounds.
It seems like I can add weight (lord knows what the compound is) very easily. I swear some weekends I've added 4-5 pounds! That comes from a lifestyle of (call it one of the following) passion, aggressiveness, competitiveness .... moderation has never paid me a visit.
I found this app quite be accident but the food lookup was so easy, I noticed I've stuck with it now for several days. I weigh 239 pounds today and would like to get under 200 pounds.
I am a HUGE basketball fan and still play to this day (although my knees straight up hate me).
I am making a commitment to myself, and if I find the right people here, I'll commit to them, that I will be an encouraging and positive energy for getting healthy, fit, and losing weight. I can do this. You can do this. We've all kicked an *kitten* once or twice in our life, so I figure, why not my own for awhile.
