Not losing a bet

My name is Brooke and I was recently challenged by my mother and sister to a bet. Whoever loses the most percentage of weight from our weigh-in date (Nov. 30) to our end date (Feb. 1) gets $100 from the other two. I don't have $100 to spend, but I do have the ability to drop some pounds.
I've wanted to lose weight since middle school, but it's just never happened for me. Now, as a college student, I have a lot of freedom to make my own food choices.

I'm currently 188, and my goal weight is 106.

Fifteen days in and 13 pounds down, I'm getting better at controlling myself and I've even been trying new foods (liver is my flavor of the week).

I'm trying to keep my calories low and my nutrients high, and it's surprisingly easy to grocery shop when I'm not spending an hour in the baked goods section.

It may be too early to say, but I don't think I'll ever eat like I used to. Stepping on the scale and seeing another pound gone is far too rewarding to stop. My motivation is high and I already feel much better about myself. I can't wait to see how I'll feel once I get to my goal weight, but until then, I'm still pretty stoked to be making this journey.

welcome and surely do hope everyone involved in the bet makes progress. I'm sure by now that the $100 isn't your only motivating factor now that your probably seeing changes in how you look and feel. In the starting phase you will feel motivated but the further along you go, the harder the challenge becomes. This is where you must resist the temptation to give up and destroy all that hard work. Nothing is wrong with enjoying a treat here and there but don't make it a habit and don't deprive yourself of food you genuinely enjoy. Anyways, I'm sure you can find plenty of information on MFP to help you on your journey. Good luck.
