Starting in 2009 I lost as much as 119 lbs. I recently regained 19 lbs putting me at the 100lb loss mark (still healthy weight at 119 or 100 lbs lost). Started dating, got sick, started binge eating again, etc. What sucks is that I'm going out of town now and again in January and I have a 5K/10K/HM/M in January (Dopey) that I now have to do 19 lbs heavier so I can't really start a workout program because I'll be in taper mode, and then 2 weeks to recover, so we're looking at Feb 1st.

I just want to get started on it already, I can feel this extra weight and hate it. Can't wait to get started again.

Just ranting :) If there's one thing I know how to do is lose weight (unfortunately the second thing I really know how to do is gain it )

    what's taper mode?

I don't understand why going out of town would stop you logging?

can the excuses and get started already

(OK I'm not your traditional motivating cheerleader, I'm more your kick in the butt type )

Taper mode is when you wind down the exercise to get your body ready to run 48.X miles in 4 days (or whatever race you are doing).

I'm eating 1500 calories a day at 5'4", I just can't go into 1-2 workouts a day mode and I won't be exercising because I'm going to see people and I only have 4 days to be with them.

Good thing weight loss comes from diet and not exercise. Eat at a deficit.

Just wondering how sick one can be & binge? Wouldn't that make a person even sicker? Good luck with whatever plan you come up with. Maybe going for an early morn run would work?

You Dopey people are insane! Holy crap. How do you do it?

I have no advice other than to say you shouldn't kill yourself accomplishing a goal like that. You're more important that that goal. And they'll certainly be doing it again in 2016...and 2017...and 2018, lol. You can skip one of them this year if you need to! (But if you're hell-bent on doing them all, I wish you the best of luck. Go you!)

She's probably already paid to do the event. I don't know expensive it is, but I doubt they give refunds.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything you can do about your weight in the next 4 weeks before your race. I ran a half marathon while on a cut, and I would not recommend that to anyone, let alone running the 5K/10K/Full in addition. Do your taper, finish your races the best you can, and get back on track in February!

Oh I can do Dopey that's no issue, it just sucks I piled on the weight lol Yeah in between the two trips and the training, taper, racing, and recovery, I can't go into a weight loss plan just yet, which is what sucks the most, Feb seems ages away ha Once I can just concentrate on losing weight it'll come right off again.

    Good God.

Well, do the Dopey and then you can lose the weight. You've done it before and you can do it again!

Congrats on the awesome weight loss and the fantastic running. I am humbled and in awe.

Just keep telling yourself you've done it before, so you can do it again. Don't worry about it for now because like you said you have other goals. February will be here very soon.

I would just use this down time to think about what might have made you binge. Are there some issues you need to address so that doesn't happen again?

Just saw this. Refunds from Disney for a race! Ha! That's a good one!

    No, there are no refunds.

Still, if it would hurt someone in any way, best to forfeit the cash and stay well. Our intrepid OP, though, will be doing the Dopey. I hope it ends in the Magic Kingdom so she can ride that train for a few hours without getting off. ;)

I've put in hundreds of miles of running (plus weights and spinning) since June and I have years of endurance racing :)
