    Weekday dinners.

I have 4 sarcastic, witty, incredibly intelligent (not to mention beautiful) sisters and the 5 of us were born within 7 years of one another.

Growing up, we would have dinner everyday around our 6 foot round table and while the food would be gone within 15 minutes - we would often sit there for an hour and a half or two hours just talking and exchanging barbs. My Dad, known throughout the community for being outspoken would be able to barely fit a word in edgewise. We laughed so much.

While I like my life now, I miss being connected like that every day. I still get it - but it's now on holidays and via text.

how old are these days we're talking about?

I vaguely miss coming home from work or a party and checking my answering machine for new messages.

"old days" for me means 20+ years ago...

Oh yeah, me too. I just wasn't sure if this was about those old days or pre-MFP days (like some have answered about not being aware or caring about calories...that sort of thing).

Even though it was inconvenient, I miss going on vacation and scouring bookstores and music shops for books I wanted to read or tapes & cds of bands I'd only heard about. Now that stuff is so easily found, for the teenage me Amazon/Google would have been like a dream come true.

climbing trees/doing backflips on the trampoline/ramping my bicycle across the railroad tracks WITHOUT having to pause and say, "Hmm. I could get hurt. Do I really want to wake up and haul hay if I fall and land on my shoulder? It will take weeks to feel right again....hmm...better not."

I miss when everybody took time to actually talk to each other instead of texting and messaging every thing they want to say!

Gladiator fights were fun, even though people said they were staged.

When it was WWF not WWE. When people didn't look at me weird when I said I like WWE. When 'Curse of Sherwood' was the best video game I'd ever played and it was on cassette.

I miss when the most important thing I had to think about was if I should wear my Thomas the Tank Engine undies or my Fireman Sam ones :(
