Exercising, Losing weight, Asthma

Hi, I just started exercising again but my doctor said that I could only do moderate exercise up to 45 mins a day maximum due to my history of asthma. Usually, I used the elliptical machine for up to 30 mins with 15 mins of squatting with light weights. But I heard that the first hour of exercise, you are only shedding "water weight". Will I still be able to lose weight this way?

Never heard that before.
You need to watch the calories you eat, that's more important than exercise. Weight loss is about 80% diet and 20% exercise.0
