Hey everybody that reads this! I am trying to make a MFP comeback of sorts. I want so badly to lose about 30 pounds. That's a reasonable amount I think. I am a 38 year old, 5'10" tall, married, working momma of three (17, 14, and 9). I am a teacher's aid that has taken on a whole lot more responsibilities this year. I don't have time to be down in the dumps or sick. Part of the reason I ever get to being either of those things is because of being unhealthy. I am not obese, at least not in my eyes, but according to everything I see and read I am about 25-30 pounds from my ideal weight.

I'm not so obsessed with the numbers on the scales like I used to be, but I do like to see them come down. Since school started in August, I have some how managed to drop almost 15 pounds, which is a good thing. However, I am not sleeping like I need to be and I feel groggy a lot. I need better eating habits and more exercise in my life. That's where you come in. I need help getting motivated to get off my behind and move! Any pointers, hints, or anything else that might help is greatly appreciated.

My goal is to lose at least another 15 pounds then concentrate more on toning and shaping up what I have to work with.

LET'S DO THIS!!!

Congrats on your progress so far. Walking or another type of cardio, even half a hour, will help with your sleep. Join one of the fitness challenges on MFP or walkingwithattitude.com. Perhaps it's time to set some new (non weight) goals.

    Great start and welcome!

The only pointer I can give is to set goals, design a plan to reach them, and then make them a priority.

Also, don't rely on 'motivation'. Motivation is a fair-weather friend. Motivation will fail you when it's cold outside and your bed is cozy warm.

Planning and prioritization will see you through when motivation says it's OK to skip today's workout because you're too tired, or too stressed, or the weather's too nasty, or the weather's too nice, etc.

    Good luck! :)
