Belly and hips...how do I trim them?

As I've been losing weight, I've lost it mostly in my face, chest, and waist. My belly and hips area have always been out of proportion with the rest of my body and I want to work on it, but there is so much conflicting literature out there on what exercises work best for those target areas. Does anybody have any experience or advice they can share with me?

You can't spot reduce. Where you lose first and last depends on genetics. Just keep losing the body fat0

They will just be the last to go. Keep at it, you cant sport reduce fat
Most women always hold it til last in belly *kitten* and hips
Men are belly and chest0 -
Yeah I assumed that was the case, but I didn't know if there were things I could do to help it as well.0

Yeah, hate the answer, but the truth hurts. How about this quote? I find this aggravating... WTH? "In one study, thin people who watched their diets but didn't exercise were more likely to have too much visceral fat." OK, now I need to get myself out of this chair and go walk!

I've had the same issue, always held weight around my hips/lovehandles/lowerback/tummy.
Unfortunately I have lost weight pretty evenly around my body so my problems areas remain "larger" or "out of proportion" compared to my arms/legs/face.
All the (good) advice I have gotten is;
1. you can't spot reduce fat,
2. you can build muscle in other areas to "balance" your shape (ie: bum, shoulders)
3. continue to lose fat and those spots will shrink eventually.

Scissors work.
but yea, what everyone else said. You can increase the density and mass of the muscle tissue in those areas, but not reduce the fat.0 -
