Why am I never sore?

So, I will do about an hour of strength training (mainly on my abs) and will be literally dying during that workout, but the day after my abs are totally fine and not sore at all (which is very disappointing to me since I actually LIKE the feeling of being sore...I know, I'm messed up)

I do a different ab workout every day (I workout 6 days a week) and try to never do the same routine more than once a week..

Any idea as to why this is happening? I'm afraid that I'm already pushing myself as hard as I can go and if I try any harder I'll probably explode :P

Because you're doing abs, abs, and more abs...so your abs are conditioned to what you are doing. You get DOMs when you do things your body isn't accustomed to and conditioned to do.

I would also ask why you are doing abs, abs, and more abs...you will garner far greater results working your entire body. You do realize that you can't spot reduce right? I actually spend a very minimal amount of time doing direct ab work...there is so much more you can do that will be so much more beneficial than endless direct ab work.

Agreed.. Your body becomes accustomed after awhile. You need to give your abs a break, do other things, and come back later. Believe it or not, the feeling of being sore doesn't mean your getting stronger/worked out any harder/burned any more calories or anything like that.. Just means those muscles weren't use to the work load.

Try heavy squats, deads and bench. See how you feel the next day. I guarantee you, mr DOMS will be knocking at your door

    Agreed.

Additionally, working only abs that often... I wonder how much they are able to recover between workouts, how much you're really able to work them each session, and how much good you're really doing.

Thank you (all) so much!! And yes, I know you can't spot reduce - but I will definitely try to do more total body workouts! Thanks again everyone :)

I don't just do one body part. I am feeling it everywhere. shoulders, legs, chest and stomach..and i didn't even work my stomach. lol. try doing other things. you'll be surprised at how you will feel it and where, and wonder how since you don't remember working it.
