Need to restart again

Recently seperated and finally ready to get back on track. How do I start? Anyone have similar stories to motivate me?

For me I can listen to all the motivating speeches in the world, read a million quotes but what really does it is the voice inside that says you can do this! The motivation must come from within you.0

Set some goals (and you may like to add them to your profile) and then work towards achieving them. Just start with logging everything and gaining an awareness of what you are eating. Then gradually make some healthier changes.0

I bought healthier food last night. I had to take a second job when my husband left and trying to eat around that schedule had been killing me. I made a turkey sandwich to bring with me today(vs Wendy's) any other suggestions for food I can bring with me and eat on a quick break at work?0

Try high protein stuff. I like Quest Bars (some people don't). Also, some Kashi dry cereals have lots of protein. I pre-measure a serving at home in the morning and munch at it on my desk. Kellogg's makes some higher protein granola-like bars with chocolate for some sweetness. Sometimes I grill up extra chicken at dinner then bring a few ounces of slices to work for break time. Bottom line - having stuff with high protein seems to satisfy. Pre-cut veggies (Broccoli, Cauliflower, etc) are good to bring for snacks too. Fruit doesn't usually do it for me. I find it really doesn't fill me up at all.

Incremental Goals with Incremental Rewards, doesn't have to be anything big... the rewards can be hitting targets and crossing them off a list (I personally find crossing things off lists when completed rewarding) but it can also be an activity, a trip or something that really makes you appreciate the completion of a goal.0

This, that thread is one of my favourites bit because of losing the weight but because she grew as a person in her attitude towards herself and life.0 -
I am not sure of the progress you have made thus far, but what was worked for me is looking back at photos of myself at my heaviest and remembering how I felt physically and emotionally. I also look back at all that I have accomplished to this point and find that spark to keep pushing forward to accomplish more and to a better me.

My husband travels for work a lot. The weeks he's gone, I cook a meal on Sunday with enough portions for my lunches during the week and a meal on Monday for all my dinners. Not cooking the rest of the week leaves me with more time in the evenings for the gym, house chores, and relaxation. Well when he left my diet was basically vodka and cigarettes with a nutrigrain bar mid morning and a slice of cold pizza each night. I lost 12 lbs in three weeks because of it and was weak. We attempted to talk about things a month later and my depression turned into anxiety with anxiety eating and I gained 15. Now months later I'm finally happy and have a new guy that makes me happy enough to want to workout again. I only really have three days I can work out so I can't do the 6 day a week videos I did previously but I want to workout those three days. Finding the energy is hard (I work 70 hours a week) so I need to start slow and ease back into it. Usually once I start I take off and get obsessed but I just gotta get started.0

nothing wrong with 3 days a week- outside of dance classes- I only lift 3 days a week.
If you're doing a comprehensive whole body routine- you don't need more than that.
Baby steps. The first step is always the hardest- but once you take that first baby step you can plow ahead as you need.0 -

This... this... so much this! Sometimes it just has to start. Force yourself, even for a few minutes, to get active. Start small when it comes to diet changes too. Build from the small victories to create large victories!
