Getting my BIG butt and belly back on the wagon!

Slowly but surely…2 years ago I completed my first 10K, had lost 14 lbs from running and eating better…not great…but eating better almost comes naturally when you're active. You need that good energy food! I was feeling strong, happy, proud…in a really good place.
Fast forward these 2 years…I got the flu shortly after that 10K accomplishment. It put me down for 10 days…10 hard days and I never got my groove back. I ran less and less and here I am, up 12 lbs., lazy, feel horrible and really stupid for letting it get this way. So, I'm back.
Today is day 1. No, not a day 1 of "change everything!", a day one of one small goal to accomplish. That's drink my goal of 64 ounces of water today. That's it, then tomorrow I'll set another added on to this one to accomplish again and build up. Hey, it's the Holiday's…I'm going to need to celebrate! So, slow is the process and I'll work it up back to my happy and healthy self once again.
So, that's my day 1 goal. I have also set a 4 week goal. You see, my husband and I are surprising our two boys (8 & 10) with a trip to Maui. We went, just the two of us, three years ago on our 20th anniversary and knew we had to take them. Then, we got a TERRIFIC deal on roundtrip tickets and just had to jump in and say YES! We leave January 15th (hubby's B-Day) for 7 days. We are surprising them on Christmas morning…can't wait!!! So, my 4 week goal is weight oriented and that is to lose 6 pounds by then. I'll take that! Just to get a bit of that pudge where I notice things are fitting just a bit better…yeah…I'll take that!
These goals are all lifelong changes I want and need to make. The road I'm headed down now doesn't look happy and healthy for me or my family. I want to see and play with my Grandchildren, run around with them in the yard playing tag and frisbee. HECK! I want to do that with my Great Grandchildren!
So, let's go…time to get started. My 16 ounce cup of water is filled up and ready to begin!
