Body water percentage

So I know the fancy electronic weighing scales are not the most accurate at measuring body fat/water/muscle but I have compared my results with friends and families on the same scales so they should be consistent. The scales always read very high for my body water percentage (always above 60%) which is very high for a woman (I'm 5'3" and weigh around 8 stone 4). When I compare this to other female family members and friends on my scales theirs are all much lower, usually 50-55%. Is my body retaining it because I'm not drinking enough or an I drinking too much?
