Calorie Adjustment

I recently got a Misfit Flash watch and I connected it to MFP. However, I do not completely understand how it uploads its data for the calorie adjustment. When the watch says I have burned 2,000 calories, MFP shows a number that's 500 or less. I understand that they subtract the MFP calories burned from the Misfit Wearables calories burned but why does it do this? Shouldn't it just show the 2,000 calories added to my diary? And where are they getting the MFP calories burned if I haven't even entered any activity for the day yet? Also, should I still manually enter my running and cardio along with what the watch uploads?

If you set MFP for maintenance then your MFP number plus your calorie adjustment should be pretty close to the total burn misfit records.0
