Hey everyone!

My name is Rosa, and I'm now a sophomore in college. To be honest, weight loss drives me insane. I've tried a lot of times to control my weight (since I'm now 180lb at 5'6") and I always just fail. There are 40 bazillion methods to going about this, and the more I research I do, the more I get confused and lost. I just want to start simply and go off from there. Any help, advice, or friendship requests would be appreciated!

~Rosa

Log everything. It's all about calories in vs. calories out. I don't "diet". I eat all the things I love. I just make sure I'm in a calorie deficit at the end of the day. More about portions. Good luck. You can add me if you like. I am here everyday! :)

Just eat a calorie deficit. I started out about the same as you, 190. Log everything you eat and I also recommend buying a food scale. You can still eat what you like, don't cut out things you love, just eat less of them. You can do it!

Here's a helpful forum that a lot of people here follow and it helps them:

    http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/974889/in-place-of-a-road-map-short-n-sweet

It explains your TDEE, BMR, and how to lose weight in a calorie deficit.
  • I log everything I eat--found out the hard way that light canned soups have too much sodium. I don't like to go over 1500 mg sodium a day--makes me retain water. Light soup doesn't mean light sodium. :( The beauty of myfitnesspal is if you begin with a total calories per day, every time you eat and log, it shows you how many calories, fat, sodium, carbs, etc are left. I allow myself 1500 calories a day, and since I started last month I've lost 14 pounds. I'm excited with that. Good luck!

Do you readjust your calories for every 5-10 lbs you lose? Are you eating exercise calories back?
