Returning to running after knee issues

Hi, I used to love running and possibly overdone it, and ended up having a knee injury. I have stopped running for around 3 months, and I am looking to get back into it.

The other day I went a 20 minute slow easy run just to test how my knee was, and apart from a slight feeling during my warm up walk, i was pain free.

What is the best way to proceed for my next few runs? Run slowly for longer periods on my feet, or run fast for shorter periods on my feet?

I'm willing to be patient cos the last thing i want is more time out!

Thanks

The best way is to see a sports doctor, orthopedist, etc. and ask what they recommend.

    ^That

If it's bad enough then you need to figure out why you hurt it in the first place and the answer is most likely not "run more."

    Yup!

Keep them slow & short but, most importantly, try to find out what the underlying cause of the injury was.
