Hot flow yoga

Hey - just wondering what you would estimate for an hour of a hot flow yoga. It was pretty intense, and lots of fast beating heart and sweat, lots of challenging poses and flow. Anyone familiar with yoga, i appreciate your insight!

I just don't wanna use the generic numbers in the app. Thx!

    Yoga doesn't burn much ...I'd say allow 200 but I'm 5'8 so more or less depending on your heigh/weight

    After decades of doing yoga/stretch I do a daily customized flow routine originally created by a personal trainer as a gift and modified as my body needed extra attention in certain areas. It takes anywhere from 5 - 15 minutes depending on intensity of day's activity and audibly readjust my spine 95% of time. Anyone else have this experience? Doesn't burn as many calories as above website estimate, but somethings are just part of body maintenance.

    I did Bikram yoga for about 10 months and estimated around 510 calories per hour but I'm 6'-1" and close to 200 lbs.

    I use to do hot yoga all the time. It's intense but it's the heat more then the moves. Underestimate. 200 Cals for 60 minutes.

    Most yoga has a METS value between 2.5 and 4, so take your per minute BMR and multiply it by one of those. E.g., if your BMR is 1440, that's 1 calorie per minute, so you'd burn 2.5-4 calories per minute at yoga, times 60 = 150-240 per hour. I'd go closer to the 4 METS for most hot classes, just because they do go for more of a power yoga vibe, usually.

    The heat is what makes your HR soar, not so much the yoga, but only the movement is the driver of the calorie burn (not the heat).
