Will Whey Protein help me lose weight or bulk me up?

Hi everyone!
I am thinking about adding some whey protein to my green smoothie . My question is will it bulk me up or help me to lose weight. I don't do strength training right now. I do plan on starting to lift soon. Right now I just do cardio .. Anyone have advice or experience?? Thanks a bunch !

Seriously your weight is based on you having a calorie surplus or deficit. I have a protein shake after my morning run. It's great for muscle repair.0 -
Adding whey will add protein to your diet. If you are trouble hitting your protein targets it will help.
The overall calorie count for the day will tell you if you will go up or down.0 -
If you are on a cut protein is good to help you retain muscle because some people find it difficult to get enough protein when they are cutting and whey can help.
It is as relevant to weight loss as any other food is.0 -

Neither. It's just protein, like eating a piece of chicken or some eggs. If you need some extra protein in your diet and have room for the extra calories, go for it. How many calories you eat and burn will determine if you lose weight, and as a woman it would take some SERIOUS weight training and supplements to bulk you up.

Calories in vs calories out. It's that simple. No single food will make you gain or lose as long as you stay within your calorie allowance. If you're lacking protein or struggle to hit your protein number then drink up!0

the answer is …no
if adding the protein puts you in a surplus then yes you will gain …not sure if you will "bulk up" that would be a function of what your training program is..
if you are in a calorie deficit, add protein, and remain in a calorie deficit then you will lose…
