OK - so I had this idea of starting insanity when I hit my goal weigh, but here I am thinking that I will look flabby if I wait. I've seen people have success, and I want to be a part of them. I have decided to start exercising again. I have the whole dvd set on my laptop and I just need to know one thing. I weigh 178 5'6 and eat 1200 - is it a good idea to up my calories to 1400 for the program, I have been losing 2-3 pounds weekly, sometimes less. BTW if anyone has done insanity please show me your results it will motivate me even if you lost an inch! thanks!

I haven't done Insanity, but I'd up the calories since you would probably feel like crap doing all that activity only on 1200 calories. You should probably up the calories anyway since 1200 is pretty low for someone of your height.0

I'm not exercising now but thanks!0

probably.
just be patient. if you up your calories and start exercising you'll put on a little weight. it is more than likely water weight from exercise.
in fact, i'd ditch the scale... and the measuring tape. i'd start by taking a weekly progress picture.0 -
I have not done insanity (not allowed to do anything high impact or high cardio, medical issues)
But I do suggest upping your calories. I started here 10 weeks ago at 1200 and am now at 1400 and exercising more. If you stay at 1200 I suggest eating all your calories back from exercise, but I think you'll be hungry still0 -
Honestly with 1200 I rarely get hungry, when I do I have smoothies (80-100cals) Not exercising, but the thought of starting insanity is def there.0

Why not try it? What do you have to lose? I also do 1200 calories plus exercise calories. I started off walking 1-2 miles a day on the treadmill and for over a week I have been doing 30 day shred. It's hard but awesome! I do it on YouTube for free0
