Yes. And it can cause the scale to be up by a couple pounds.

Try drinking coffee, apple juice, or prune juice. Or eat an apple or beans. Lots of beans.

Some people poop twice a day, others twice a week.
Missing a day once in a while probably isn't a big deal, and you shouldn't worry about day-to-day weight fluctuations anyway. Look at the longer term, see what you weighed a couple weeks ago or a month ago.

To increase fiber: metamucil, beans, fruit (esp. with skin)
    Drink more water than usual.
    Be more active than usual.

This might depend on one's age. Chronic constipation is not associated with weight gain for young people.

You'd be surprised at the amount of things that can cause weight gain, especially with water weight. Chronic constipation is one of them; if you have chronic constipation however you might want to visit your Dr.
  • Yes it can. Weigh yourself before you use the bathroom and after if you want to see for yourself.

It's nothing to get worked up over though. Your weight is always in flux; the idea is tracking trends over time.
