I'm scared that I can't do this and scared that if I succeed I will look worse or better. I'm afraid of the hays work and of being hungry.

Jennifer. This is going to be o.k. Take one day at a time. One moment at a time.
Maybe for the first week log everything you eat in the diary. In other words, do not change anything until after that first week. You will have gained data and information to help you make decisions about week 2.

Thank-you for the confession and admission of your size. That's half the battle! This site is full of information you need to change your lifestyle, diet, and attitude! Best of all there are plenty of people that are in your shoes and have lost the weight they need, and even those that tried and failed and are starting over. Good Luck!

I agree with the others encouraging you. Just losing 10% of my weight from my peak of 250 made me feel like a winner. I have lost a few more pounds now but it is easier to move and walk now which helps lose more weight after the first 10% was loss. Actually losing the first 5% was awesome as well.

Fear slows us all down and each small step forward helps push back that fear.

Make it slowly but surely. Be persistent with reaching your goals, be strong with everything and don't give up because you will make it to your goal :) Since you decided to lose weight, that's the start so keep going! Cheering up for you!
