I wasn't sure if this was the best board to post this, but I'm giving it a go. I LOVE sprouts! But I go to school in a small town where sometimes they're out before I get there, or I can only find alfalfa (clover are my favorite and I've never found them here). So I've been contemplating trying to grow them on my own. Does anyone do this? I've read instructions online and it seems pretty easy... can anyone attest to this? Also, any recommendations on sprout types I may not have tried yet?
Thanks in advance!

I bought this thing called an Easy Sprout, plastic container with a slotted inner container. Works really well. I use a mix of clover, fenugreek and radish seeds, but I want to try some beans and other salad type sprouts too. It's easy, just have to do a quick soak a couple times a day and drain. And it is fun watching them grow.0

I love sprouts too & recommend Easy Sprout same as the person above. I have ordered some very tasty seeds from http://sproutpeople.org/easy-sprout-sprouter/0

If you don't want to spend any money to buy a special sprouter all you need to do is get a clean glass jar add the seeds and then cover the top with a piece of old pantyhose secured with an elastic band to hold it there. Add water and drain as usual. Works well.0

I grow my own and yes, they are extremely easy. Here is the one I bought http://www.amazon.com/Victorio-VKP1014-4-Tray-Kitchen-Sprouter/dp/B005FVPP04/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1419824739&sr=8-1&keywords=seed+sprouter
You can also buy a sample pack like this if you want http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005LRBGEQ/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It is a lot of seeds trust me. A very tiny amount makes a lot of spouts. Other than this you can go to bulk bins and gather your own seeds, legumes, and grains.0 -
I started sprouting a couple month back after reading a post on the subject here on MFP. Super simple. I bought both the Easy Sprout Sprouter mentioned above and a good old mason jar with lids you swap out as the sprouts grow. I much prefer the mason jar. I've been sprouting a mix of clover, radish, broccoli and alfalfa seeds.
Here's that sprouting post0
