Illinois Warrior Dash

So, I left MFP for a few weeks, months.. Put on a few pounds (not all chunkyness, some muscle) and now I have two weeks to prep for the Warrior Dash. MFP has helped out a lot so I come to you guys/gals for some advice. I must admit, I've been lazy - lifting. light sports did two 5ks but all spread out in a 2.5 month range. Now, I want to work on cardio, cut out a few pounds of chunkatude and get back in it. Can you guys give me some pointers on how to build my cardio up fast? I know nothing good comes easy and nothing easy is good but if there's any super secret ninja techniques you can share please do. I am beginning my 7k jog/run tomorrow and will continue until DashDay. I am sad I struggle to finish my minute of burpees now. PLEASE, HELP ME MFP!
