Eating with a Stomach Bug?

Hey, I don't mean to sound stupid but I have a pretty bad stomach bug and if I even think of food, my stomach feels nauseous. I think if I eat I will throw it back up since I threw up everything last night until nothing else came out, not even liquids ( I am so sorry if this grosses you out! ) Usually after throwing up I don't eat for a day because the sight of food makes me feel sick and even if I do eat it's something small, like the last time I had a 6 inch subway sub the entire day (or whole, can't remember), but that was just from throwing up once, this is a bit worse. I was thinking maybe to drink some fruit juice a long with my water since I can keep liquids down better. I'm sorry if I sound like like an idiot, but if the answer is obvious please don't be rude, but I'm pretty sure that many people have thrown up before and lost their appetites.

Thank you! :)

If you can't eat, don't. I realize everyone gets in a tizzy about starvation mode and such, but if you're sick, work through it, don't force food, get plenty of liquids and let it pass. If you're really worried about nutrition, try some Ensure or something like that.

I'll second what Jen said and urge you to get as much liquid down as possible, but don't worry about eating.

Try a BRAT diet (Banana, Rice, Applesauce, Toast).

this, plus protein (like chicken) and yogurt and/or probiotics when you feel up to eating again. Don't force yourself to eat if you're still feeling sick.

If you can't eat, then don't. It's more important to try to keep hydrated if you can. If you can't even drink & keep it down, then wait awhile and try again. A little water, 7up or Ginger Ale (I prefer sugar free myself) are my fluids of choice when I get sickly.. If it continues too long, then get to a doctor. Most likely....hopefully......you'll be able to sip fluids and recover gradually from there. Hope you feel better!
