Talk about a wake-up call...

I knew I had gained some weight this year, particularly since my youngest daughter turned 1 in July. I just didn't realize HOW MUCH I had gained until my grandmother asked me at Christmas dinner, "So, what's this? Any news to tell us?" She thought I was pregnant... I stepped on the scale last night and realized that I now weigh almost 10 pounds more than I did the day before I gave birth. Except then it was all cute baby belly. Now it's spread out all over in oddly shaped blobs created by my clothes that no longer fit properly.

So, however cliche it is to embark on a weight loss journey at the turn of the year, here I am! I'm hoping to find some like-minded folks here to help keep me accountable. I'm going to start with that first 10 pounds, but ultimately, I'd like to drop about 40. I know it's going to be hard work, but maybe by this time next year I can celebrate that goal.

You can add me if you want. I've been on mfp since 2011 and I've gained and lost 100 pounds three times. I had gastric bypass in may and have lost 167 pounds since February. I'm looking for supportive friends who won't judge me for the surgery. I still work very hard at weight loss. I walk 3-5 miles nearly every day. I count calories everyday. And I struggle some days. I'm a very good cheerleader. Hope we can be friends.

Congrats on the 167 pounds Jacki - that's amazing! I've done the calorie counting thing before and it really helped - until I started falling into my perfectionist tendencies. If I couldn't figure out exactly what was in something we had away from home, I wouldn't bother to log it - then I'd start logging less and less and eventually just quit. Really trying to get over that this time around.
