We're not doing anything special but I was thinking of making a nice meal, maybe (not that I typically don't, but you know)...
What are you all having?

I googled New Years recipes and found out that it's considered good luck to eat a meal with black-eyed peas. If the weather is cool enough to turn on the oven, I plan on making this pie (with some adjustments) for myself.0

I'm making sushi, chicken wings and homemade pizza for NYE. NY Day is Cornish game hens, potato-parsnip gratin, and sauteed asparagus.0
-
Not sure yet. Going out to our local restaurant for dinner so my options are limitless!0
-
Nachos, made with that horrible-looking stadium liquid cheese and leftover meat from burritos last night. Kroger sells it here, and it's basically tradition for NYE and Super Bowl Sunday.0
-
We're going out for NYE dinner, but New Year's Day I'm making corned beef and cabbage and kransekake for dessert. It's our little tradition to incorporate some "good luck" Irish and Norwegian dishes at New Year's.0

I'd totally go out but with the kids... it's a pain lol.0
-
If I am not in New York City, my NYE has always been a Surf and Turf dinner at home.0
-
Pierogies and empanadas and other finger foods. I also will have a fruit a nd cheese plate out.0
-
We have reservations at a French bistro. It's an early dinner at 5:30 (which was all they had left). Hoping to catch the end of happy hour...0
-
Take away curry with a couple of friends.
I have a little one at home, but I can't be fagged to arrange a babysitter and go out anyway.0 -
thinking of making bonchon wings.0
-
baked salmon and asparagus ooorrrrr salmon tacos with avocado slices0
-
Eating out this year. But usually, I make a seafood feast. Will have that Jan. 2 instead - lobster tails, shrimp, snow crab legs, lots of veggies, sweet potato cornbread.0
-
I'm on my own this year. I've been practicing chinese food recipes, so I think I'll finally conquer making dumplings and treat myself to a chinese food feast. And a movie. And I'll probably be in bed by 10. Ha.0

vegan pizza,cake,various chips/crackers snack things0

We're going out to the local Thai cafe before going to the beach to watch the fireworks. I'll be having my usual, chicken satay skewers and coconut rice. Yum!

Homemade pizza!0

Probably just sandwiches for dinner for us but at night we are having meatballs, shrimp, cheese and crackers and lots more snacks! New Years Day though, we will be starting to eat healthy again.0
-
No plans. I'm still full from Christmas. Maybe fried catfish with some horseradish dipping sauce.0
-
The usual - hot Hungarian sausage, pork roast, sauerkraut, and mashed potatoes.0
-
Chicken and veggies. And I bought frozen chocolate-covered bananas today.0
-
I'm going to attempt reverse searing my Christmas gifted beef tenderloin with a cauliflower casserole on the side and lay around in a meat coma until 2015 rolls in.0
-
My Mum is coming over and we're planning to embark on a DVD marathon whilst chowing down on a Chinese takeaway! Perfect!0
-
At the minute I'm thinking homemade pizza. I'll let the kids pick their own toppings and make their own. I'll have red onion, tomato, spinach, goats cheese and basil on mine with a drizzle of basil oil mmmmyummy! I was gonna have a few glasses of wine too but over did it last night and right now I can't see me drinking EVER AGAIN0

New Years Eve will be breakfast after church this afternoon.....sausages, bacon, grits, eggs, pancakes, and biscuits. New Years Day will be the traditional collard greens, black eye peas, baked turkey wings.0
-
We order Indian takeout for NYE. Been doing that the last 6 or 7 years now.0

We're actually having leftovers tonight. New Year's Day is our big food day. I'm from PA where you always have pork with sauerkraut to give the New Year good luck and fortune.
However I HATE sauerkraut so I'm doing Crockpot pork chops with brown rice and a veggie. It's huge hit with my 2 year old. Happy New Year everyone!0 -
Today we are eating normal foods like it's any other day. For my family it's a good luck tradition to eat pork, sauerkraut and potatoes on new years day. Locally it's common to eat Pork with pierogies stuffed with potato and sauerkraut.
It's neat to see what others eat traditionally. Heritage and region really mixes things up.0 -
Probably just a salad with meat leftovers. I'm DEFINITELY having lunch after dinner, though. That might put me just a bit over calories.
